Monday 7/1: Grateful Dead Monday @ Barrelhouse
Grateful Dead Mondays is Chattanooga’s sole recurring tribute night to the legendary jam band. Held on the first Monday of each month at Barrelhouse Ballroom, the tribute band Chants in the Void reinterprets the Dead’s classic songs with their own contemporary improvisational flair. // Barrelhouse Ballroom 7:30 PM $10 at door
Tuesday 7/2: Jamie & Jimmy @ Barking Legs
Catch Kofi Mawuko and Dexter Bell, joined by Jamie Blanton and Jimmy Galloway, at the special “2nd Tuesdays” show. Wednesday 7/10: Castle Black @ Cherry St. Tavern
NYC’s Castle Black draws from sludge, post-punk, grunge, alternative, and new wave to create live performances with a heavy intensity. Their debut album, The Highway at Night, released in June, truly rips. Openers include local bands Fellzog and Velvet Christ. // Cherry Street Tavern 9PM $10 at door
Wednesday 7/10: Dhana Jeera @ JJ’s Bohemia
Dhana Jeera is a project from Kiran Fernandes of Athens, Georgia. This project draws from Fatou Seidi Ghali’s hypnotic guitar style that Fernandes discovered during pandemic isolation. Mastering techniques via YouTube and ear training, he blends influences creating a rich, cultural tapestry. Thursday 7/11: Defluo Cervus @ The Dragon’s Roast
Defluo Cervus, an emo art-rock band based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, released their interesting and exciting EP it’s off your shoulders in February. Nashville’s grungegaze outfit Concrete Paradise are also on the lineup, along with Chattanooga bands The Cutts and Field of View. Thursday 7/11: Lucas Granpa Abela @ Sluggo’s
Chattanooga Noise Night features Lucas “Granpa” Abela, who crafts crude glass instruments with throat-singing techniques, creating controlled cacophonous noise. He delivers intense improvisational performances… with glass. Fellow Australian experimental harsh noise artist Gorgina joins him on the Intergenerational Trauma Tour. Local openers include Leperwitch and Rurnt, Leviathans of Black Hollering. // Sluggo’s 8PM
mc chris pioneered nerd-centric rap, blending themes such as Star Wars with heartfelt stories, which evolved into the genre known as nerdcore. His influence extended to Adult Swim, where he contributed as a writer, actor, and animator for shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Saturday 7/13: Yucks, Herly Berly @ Cherry St. Tavern
Two Nashville-based bands rip through town on 12-city tour through the South. Yucks are a surfy, garage punk quartet and Herly Berly is a female-fronted power trio. Saturday 7/13: Giltvein @ Yellow Racket Records
Giltvein (Erica Scoggins), Slow Blink (Amanda Haswell), and Jerod Scott Walz converge at Yellow Racket Records this Saturday night for an evening of ambient and experimental sounds. Saturday 7/13: Le Gato @ HiFi Clyde’s

Saturday 7/13: Buddy Guy @ Memorial Auditorium
At 87, Buddy Guy stands as a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and a crucial influence on legends like Hendrix, Clapton, and Vaughan. A trailblazer of Chicago’s West Side sound, he’s a living blues icon. Sunday 7/14: Fury in Few @ The Dragon’s Roast
Atlanta’s Fury in Few delivers unabashed hard rock, blending indie, hardcore punk, and alternative influences.
