The Annual Free Bluegrass Festival Celebrates 17 Years at Ross’s Landing Oct 4th & 5th
The 3 Sisters Music Festival is back for its 17th year of free bluegrass on Chattanooga’s scenic waterfront. The festival will fill Ross’s Landing with a mix of traditional and contemporary bluegrass tunes on October 4 and 5, featuring some of the genre’s biggest names.
Details on performers, schedule, and other event information can be found below.
Headliners and Performers
Headliners at this year’s festival include The Brothers Comatose, The Steeldrivers, and Infamous Stringdusters.
Kicking off the festival on Friday evening, October 4, will be Chattanooga’s own The New Dismembered Tennesseans at 5:30 PM.
This local favorite comprises musicians who were part of the original Dismembered Tennesseans, a group founded over 75 years ago by Fletcher Bright and his high school friends from McCallie School.
The festival itself is named in honor of Bright’s three daughters.
The Friday night headliner is the Grammy-winning Infamous Stringdusters, known for their progressive bluegrass style. Also performing on Friday night are The Slocan Ramblers and Becky Buller.
Saturday’s headliners include The Steeldrivers, whose first Grammy nomination came during Chris Stapleton’s two-year tenure as the band’s singer. The Steeldrivers won their first Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album in 2015.
The Brothers Comatose will close out the festival on Saturday night. This San Francisco-based band infuses a West Coast twist into traditional bluegrass and country rock music.
Also performing Saturday are Chicken Wire Empire, The Steel Wheels, Sister Sadie, and Damn Tall Buildings.
