Wednesday 8/7: Dutch Experts @ JJ’s Bohemia

Unknown Pleasures presents Dutch Experts, the Vermont-based synthy darkwave project from Hannah Hoffman. Their 2023 debut EP, Bound By This, offers a contemporary nod to ’80s sounds like The Cure and Cocteau Twins. The lineup also features Clock Serum from Massachusetts, known for their industrial yet synth-heavy style. Wednesday 8/7: Teni Rane @ Yellow Racket Recs

Local folk-country singer-songwriter Teni Rane celebrates the release of her debut album Goldenrod with a free in-store performance at Yellow Racket Records. Thursday 8/8: Vision Video @ Boneyard

Vision Video, from Athens, Georgia, brings a modern pop feel to ’70s and ’80s post-punk and goth rock. Their two records, Inked in Red and Haunted Hours, have earned praise from outlets like Pitchfork and The Big Takeover. Known for live performances that feel more like twangy punk rock shows, this is a show you can’t miss. Friday 8/9: Parker Millsap @ Nightfall

Parker Millsap, an Americana singer-songwriter from Oklahoma and a nominee for Album of the Year from the Americana Music Association, has released five records. His 2016 album, The Very Last Day, made No Depression’s Album of the Year shortlist. Millsap has opened for Patty Griffin, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Jason Isbell. Saturday 8/10: Jerry Fest @ Barrelhouse Ballroom

Main Street will temporarily intersect with Shakedown Street this Saturday as Jerry Fest 2024 takes over Barrelhouse Ballroom and Five Wits Brewing. Two stages and seven bands offer 7+ hours of Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead tunes. Local vendors will be on hand, alongside grilled cheese sandwiches and cold beer. Nashville’s Hogslop String Band fuses bluegrass, old-time string music, and high-energy rock ‘n’ roll into one of the most captivating live shows you’ll experience. As Grand Ole Opry veterans, they honor their roots, but their talent for genre-hopping has forged a distinctive and exciting sound.
