Quiet City concert series closes out 2024 with The New Quintet and Dalton Mills

This Friday December 13th the historic St. Elmo Fire Hall will host a pop-up event featuring live music from The New Quintet and Dalton Mills.

The event is a collaboration between Quiet City pop-up concerts and The Reading Room, Chattanooga’s new bookstore/bar.

This intimate, listening room-style concert series features the best Chattanooga musicians in some of the city’s most unique locations.

Quiet City has programmed live music events in unique local businesses like Vagabond Barber, Verre Noir, and Julie Darling Donuts. This time they’ll bring live local music to a historical landmark. The fire hall was built in the 1930’s and is a unique architectural gem with a rich history.

The Reading Room began as the brainchild of Linden Marno-Ferree, whose passion for bookstores and bars led her to combine the two. Over the last few months she’s held pop-up events in the fire hall that doubled as fundraisers for the local library by selling their stock of donated and discarded books.

After running a successful Kickstarter campaign she plans to open a permanent location in a Brainerd storefront, just through the tunnel.
