Tuesday 3/26: Restless Spirit, Temple of the Fuzz Witch at JJ’s Bohemia
Restless Spirit’s latest album, “Afterimage,” marks a departure from their previous works. The Long Island trio combines deep-fried guitars with pounding rhythms and heartfelt vocals, delivering short, impactful tracks. Lyrically driven by personal tragedy, the album serves as a cautionary tale. Drawing inspiration from bands like Black Sabbath and Type O Negative, Restless Spirit infuses aggressive modern metal with stoner-doom influences. Wednesday 3/27: The Empty Pockets at Yellow Racket Records
The Empty Pockets, a Chicago quartet, radiate a unique blend of Americana, folk, and rock ‘n’ roll soul. Their latest LP, “Gotta Find The Moon,” recorded partly at Abbey Road Studios, showcases their growth and passion for creating music that resonates deeply with audiences worldwide. Thursday 3/28: Kimi Carter, Jaron Utt, Michael Alan Scott at Yellow Racket Records
Experience a delightful evening in the company of three singer-songwriters with local connections. Kimi Carter and Michael Alan Scott, presently based in Nashville, are among them. Carter unveiled her debut EP “fluorescent” in 2022, while Scott released his EP “Tom’s Apple, Vol. 2” last November. Jaron Utt, a familiar face on stages in town, both under his own name and as part of Walter Slide. Friday 3/29: Ratboys, Ducks Ltd. at Barking Legs
Experience the phenomenal Ratboys and Ducks Ltd at an intimate venue this week. Ratboys, known for their captivating blend of indie rock and Americana showcased in the fantastic album ‘The Window,’ guarantee an unforgettable performance. Friday 3/29: Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ at Barrelhouse Ballroom
Drivin’ N’ Cryin’, from Atlanta, Georgia, blends Southern rock with folk influences. Founded in 1985 by Kevn Kinney, the band gained popularity with their heartfelt lyrics and energetic performances. Over the years, they’ve released numerous albums, including “Mystery Road” and “Fly Me Courageous,” both southern rock classics. Their enduring legacy in the rock scene earned them a spot in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2015. Saturday 3/30: Dan Spencer at The Woodshop
Dan Spencer’s album “Bursting With Country-Fresh Flavor” garnered national attention, leading to opportunities like performing alongside Jelly Roll, Eddie Vedder, and Post Malone. Now, Dan is carving a unique path with a new record, “Return to Your Dark Master,” blending goth country and heavy metal influences. Saturday 3/30: Hans Condor at Cherry Street Tavern
Cherry Street Tavern hosts the Third Annual Chili Cook Off featuring live music performances from Nashville’s Hans Condor and several local bands. Chili is served at 8:00, Music at starts at 8:30.
