Benefit festival, album release show, disco party and more take the stage this week in Chattanooga.

Wednesday 4/10: John Moreland, Justin Bloss at Barrelhouse Ballroom

John Moreland is an acclaimed American singer-songwriter from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Raised in a family constantly on the move due to his father’s profession, Moreland’s musical journey began in his teenage years, influenced by local punk and hardcore scenes. Transitioning from rock to folk, he’s become known for his introspective, roots-inspired tunes. With a prolific career spanning nine albums, including his most recent release “Visitor” on April 5th, Moreland has earned praise as a songwriter’s songwriter for his heartfelt performances. Thursday 4/11: The Variety Show w. Alex The Band, Lon Eldridge at The Woodshop Listening Room

If you’re not spending your Thursday evenings at The Woodshop enjoying the Variety Show with Alex The Band, you’re definitely missing out. And if you’ve never experienced Alex the Band, well, you’re really missing out. As for Lon Eldridge, if you haven’t heard his fantastic tunes yet, it’s like you’re living under a rock. Friday 4/12: Gimme Gimme Disco at The Signal

Get ready to boogie down at “Gimme Gimme Disco” – a groovy 70’s dance bash inspired by the legendary ABBA! DJs will spin all your favorite ABBA tunes along with disco classics from icons like The Bee Gees, Donna Summer, and Cher. Friday 4/12: John Cowan, Luke Bulla at Barking Legs Theater

John Cowan, an American vocalist and bassist renowned for his soulful voice and progressive bluegrass sound, has collaborated with legends like John Prine, Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, The Doobie Brothers, Steve Earle, and others. He was the only member of New Grass Revival who didn’t have a bluegrass background. Friday 4/12: Land Camera, Heart of the Nearest Star, Ceremonia at Redbud

Chattanooga’s Land Camera debuted their first album in 2009 and performed shows around the city until 2012, before going quiet. However, the band resurfaced last summer, and we’re thrilled about their return! Catch them headlining at the Redbud this weekend. It’s a show you won’t want to miss. They released a single “Just Say Goodbye” in January. Experimental noise rock artists Ceremonia and Heart of the Nearest Star are also on the bill. Ceremonia released two must-hear songs, “Deliberatio” and “Lenis,” in February. Heart of the Nearest Star, hailing from Tellico Plains, completely mesmerized the crowd at the most recent Chattanooga Noise Night. // Redbud 9:00pm $10 at door. Event link

Friday 4/12: Lenox Hills, Massey Lane, Walterslide at Barrelhouse Ballroom

Chattanooga eagerly welcomes home Lenox Hills, a four-piece pop-rock band originally formed in Cleveland, Tennessee and currently based in Nashville. Led by brothers Luke and Packy Mullen, with Kyle Swenson on drums and Kameron Dunn on bass, the band unveiled their breakout EP, “Golden Town,” in 2022. Sunday 4/14: Call Me Spinster album release party @ Redbud

Chattanooga’s beloved folk-pop band Call Me Spinster is set to release their debut full-length album “Potholes” on April 12th through Strolling Bones Records. You can pre-order the album here. To celebrate the album’s release, the band is hosting a party and show at the Redbud venue, featuring performances by the band, along with the totally standard album release party accoutrements like a petting zoo, photo booth, tie-dye station, and various family-friendly yard games.
