Oklahoma-Born Songwriter Parker Millsap Brings Americana Flair, Local Trio The Foothills Open at this Week’s Nightfall Concert, Friday at 7 PM
This Friday, the Nightfall Music Series in downtown Chattanooga welcomes headliner Parker Millsap, an acclaimed Americana singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
Joining him for this week’s show is Chattanooga’s own The Foothills, set to kick off the evening at 7:00 pm.
Parker Millsap, originating from the small town of Purcell, Oklahoma, has carved out a distinct niche in the Americana music scene. His musical influences began in childhood with an exposure to Pentecostal hymns and old blues records shaped his eclectic sound.

Millsap’s early work was sparse and minimal compared to his later evolution. His 2014 debut, Palisade, is a stripped-down collection of acoustic tunes. In contrast, recent releases like 2021’s Be Here Instead feature a full band, drum machines, and effects. His 2023 album, Wilderness Within You, offers a more intricate, genre-blending roots rock experience.

His self-titled album, released in 2014, gained national recognition and earned nominations for Americana Music Association’s Emerging Artist of the Year. It paved the way for tours with prominent roots artists such as Jason Isbell and Old Crow Medicine Show.
