California-based bluegrass band A.J. Lee & Blue Summit bring their award-winning sound to downtown Chattanooga’s free outdoor music series this Friday at 7PM.
This Friday, the Nightfall Music Series in downtown Chattanooga wraps up with a headline performance from A.J. Lee & Blue Summit, an award-winning bluegrass band from Santa Cruz, California.
Joining them for this week’s show is a bluegrass band that is a continuation of one of Chattanooga’s most celebrated and longest running bluegrass acts, The New Dismembered Tennesseans, set to kick off the evening at 7:00 pm.
Since their formation in 2015, A.J. Lee & Blue Summit has quickly risen in the national roots music scene, earning accolades such as the 2019 Freshgrass Band Contest and the 2019 International Bluegrass Music Association Momentum Vocalist of the Year.
A.J. Lee & Blue Summit made their Grand Ole Opry debut in July.

City of Glass is the title track to the band’s most recent album, released on July 19th via Signature Sounds records.
City of Glass highlights A.J. Lee’s exceptional songwriting and her remarkable voice, while also showcasing the Bakersfield-inspired guitar work and vocals of Scott Gates on three tracks. The album features Sullivan Tuttle’s guitar expertise, infused with indie rock elements.
Molly Tuttle, a bluegrass superstar, and older sister of Sullivan, contributes her vocals on “I Can’t Find You at All,” adding harmonies and singing a verse.
Opening the evening at 7 p.m. is Chattanooga’s own The New Dismembered Tennesseans.
This band carries forward the legacy of The Dismembered Tennesseans, one of the city’s most beloved bluegrass acts, originally formed by Fletcher Bright.
Since its formation in 2019, the band has brought a fresh energy to traditional bluegrass, blending old-school charm with new vitality.
As the Nightfall Music Series draws to a close, this finale promises to be a celebration of bluegrass heritage and innovation.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience two outstanding bands as they light up downtown Chattanooga with their remarkable talents.
