Owen Ashworth’s Synth-Pop Project Advance Base Hits Chattanooga Just Days After New Album Release
Chicago-based singer-songwriter Owen Ashworth, the voice behind Advance Base, is coming back to Chattanooga for a special show at The Woodshop Listening Room on December 9th.
The show kicks off at 8 PM, and tickets are $10 for this 21+ show.
Ashworth, known for his previous project Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, blends minimal electronics with moving storytelling. His conversational baritone and stripped-down arrangements have earned Advance Base a dedicated following.
Folks can expect new material from Horrible Occurrences, Ashworth’s latest album, which drops just days before the show.
Horrible Occurrences paints vivid portraits of a fictional town called Richmond, where unsolved mysteries and haunting memories take center stage. The songs feel like short stories set to music—sometimes somber, sometimes surreal, and sometimes weirdly uplifting, but always deeply human.

With a mix of synths, drum machines, and electric piano, Ashworth creates an atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and strangely comforting.
His songwriting hits hard, leaving an emotional echo that lingers long after the last note fades.
If you’re into intimate, thought-provoking indie pop, this is a show you won’t want to miss.
Grab your tickets now and catch Owen Ashworth at The Woodshop, St. Elmo’s cozy, laid-back bar venue, where the atmosphere is always perfect for a night of heartfelt tunes and reflective storytelling.
