Grammy-nominated folk pop artist is on tour in support of Stellar Evolution, released in April.
The Nashville-based musician, songwriter, and producer, Aaron Lee Tasjan is taking over Cherry Street Tavern Friday, August 16, at 9 PM, for a show you won’t want to miss.
Local twangy rock ‘n’ rollers Dollars Family will kick off the show.
Since pursuing his solo career full time in 2015, Tasjan has released six albums, including the most recent, Stellar Evolution, released in April via Blue Élan Records.
He snagged his first Grammy nomination in 2021, co-writing Yola’s smash hit “Diamond Studded Shoes,” which was up for Best American Roots Song.
His solo debut In the Blazes showcased his versatility, blending Americana roots with ‘60s rock influences. Five records later, his latest release, Stellar Evolution, is a testament to his innovation and creativity, mixing hyper pop, indie rock, and ‘80s synths. The album reflects his personal journey and experiences as a member of the queer community in Tennessee.

Growing up in Delaware, California, and Ohio, Tasjan’s early life was as varied as his music career. He mastered the guitar young, skipped a Berklee scholarship, and dove headfirst into New York City’s wild music scene.
Tasjan co-founded Semi Precious Weapons and later fronted The Madison Square Gardeners. He had a stint with Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ as a supporting act and touring guitarist before settling in Nashville to focus on his solo career.
