The Woodshop Listening Room is set to host DOOM GONG, a psychedelic jazz rock ensemble hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, this Thursday at “A Leap Day Miracle” – a celebration inspired by the 30 Rock episode, commemorating this year’s Leap Year day.
DOOM GONG, a 7-piece band self-described as a “psych amalgam” of “music school nerds,” unveiled the extremely well-executed blend of dreamy psychedelia and jazz fusion, Dream Behemoth, last November. This release followed closely on the heels of their self-titled debut album, an impressive though more experimental record, released just eight months prior.
The band are veterans of festivals like Back Alley Ballyhoo, Expansion Psychedelic Festival, Crave Festival and Brouhaha, appearing on lineups with The Black Angels, Allah Las and HOLY WAVE.
Anticipate a breakthrough year for this exceptional band in 2024, marked by the release of a live album and their third studio album, coupled with a soon-to-be announced extensive U.S./Canada tour schedule.
Samcha & The Welcome Committee will open the festivities, which is expected to include snacks, candy and dancing until February ends!
