Get a Taste of New Orleans Jazz & Funk with Glen David Andrews at the Nightfall Concert Series This Friday Night
Glen David Andrews, a native of New Orleans, stands as an undeniable force in the Crescent City’s music scene. Renowned for his powerful voice and fierce trombone playing, Andrews’ music blends smoothness and intensity, offering live shows filled with elegance, humor, and funk..
Born and raised in the historic Tremé neighborhood, Andrews comes from a renowned lineage of musicians, including drummer Derrick Andrews, James “Twelve” Andrews, and Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews.
Inspired by New Orleans’ lively second-line parades and tutored by icons like Tuba Fats, Andrews began his musical career at a young age, performing and touring globally since age 14.
Andrews has collaborated with notable brass outfits such as New Birth, Lil Rascals, and Tremé, where he showcased both his musical prowess and an unmistakable stage presence.
Today, as the leader of his ensemble, Andrews integrates jazz, gospel, rock, blues, and funk into his shows, getting audiences on their feet dancing at venues around the country. He has headlined the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and iconic venues like Lincoln Center and the House of Blues, underscoring his wide-ranging appeal.
Last year, Andrews dropped his eighth record, Le Treme Carnaval. In 2010, he collaborated with New Orleans band Galactic on the hit “You Don’t Know.” Andrews’ sound blends innovation with tradition, creating songs that are both fresh and deeply rooted in New Orleans musical culture.
His live performances are nothing short of a blast, delivering an incredibly fun experience for all.
