Five Wits Brewing and Barrelhouse Ballroom host 16 local bands in a two-day festival to spotlight Chattanooga’s local music scene.

Chattanooga lost two major music festivals this year, but Five Wits Brewing Company and Barrelhouse Ballroom are stepping in with the first annual Locals Only Music Festival.

Set for Saturday and Sunday, October 12th and 13th, the two-day event will feature 16 top local bands.

“Given how Chattanooga lost its two main music festivals this past year, we decided to step up and throw one of our own,” said Mike Monen, one of the organizers.

“The vision for the festival came from a desire to raise awareness about the incredible music talent we have right here in Chattanooga, and to create a space where these bands can support one another.”

The festival will take place across two stages at Five Wits Brewing and Barrelhouse Ballroom.

Headliners and Full Lineup

Saturday’s headliners are YGTUT & The Plugs and The Afternooners, while Behold The Brave and Strung Like a Horse will headline Sunday.

Other acts include Land Camera, Red Pawn, Dos Fuegos, The Bohannons, Et Cetera, Danimal Planet, LVNDR, Rick Rushing, Lon Eldridge, Luke Simmons & The Lovestruck, KillaKeyz, and Milele Roots.

With a diverse lineup and local food and drink options, the festival promises a true celebration of Chattanooga’s creative spirit.

It kicks off at 1 p.m. both days.

“We’re so excited for the opportunity to showcase these amazing local bands and musicians,” Monen added, “I think a lot of people are going to be shocked by how much talent will be in one place. My hope is that festival-goers will continue to support these bands at local venues like Cherry Street Tavern, JJ’s Bohemia, and Boneyard throughout the year.”

Sunday headliner Strung Like a Horse just dropped “Find Your Way Home,” the lead single from their upcoming album Dirt. You can listen to it below.

Elliot Kehoe, known as The Brew Dude, sees this as the beginning of something special. “We all recognize that there’s so much that Chattanooga has to offer, and we just thought ‘Well, we’ve got this space, why don’t we be the ones to make it happen?’ We want people to see Chattanooga the way that we do – as a city full of talented people doing amazing things, and kickstart this weekend of fun and celebration around that community.”
