Boston-based DIY trio Pile announce Fall tour with Brooklyn’s Oceanator. Playing The Boneyard in Chattanooga 9/28.
After releasing their EP Hot Air Balloon in January, Pile announced they would take some time off. That break is now over: Pile is hitting the road this fall for sixteen shows across the U.S., including a stop at The Boneyard in Chattanooga on Thursday, September 26.
The tour kicks off in Buffalo, New York, and crosses into Toronto, Canada, before moving through the Great Lakes and Midwest regions. From there, the band heads down toward Appalachia with shows in Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia. The tour wraps up in the Northeast with stops in Pennsylvania, ending with a finale in Troy, New York.
Since forming as a solo project by Rick Maguire in 2007 and expanding to a three-piece band in 2010, Pile has released seven full-length albums. Their latest record, All Fiction, came out in 2023 to positive reviews from Pitchfork, Slant, Post-Trash, and Paste.
Pile thrives on experimentation and evolution, constantly stretching the limits of their sound. Their music spans post-punk, post-hardcore, and indie rock, with elements of ambient and noise-rock. The only constant thread in Pile’s discography is a commitment exploration.
Joining Pile on this tour is the Brooklyn-based band Oceanator, supporting their upcoming record Everything is Love and Death, set to release on August 30 via Polyvinyl Records.
