Weekly jams start this July and are free and open to all pickers and fans
Starting this July, local bluegrass staple Randy Steele will lead a new weekly jam session every Tuesday at 6 PM at Barrelhouse Ballroom.
The weekly jams will run from July through August.
The Tuesday Night Bluegrass Jams are free to attend and open to anyone with a love for the genre, whether you play an instrument or just want to listen with a cold drink in hand.
Pickers of all stripes are encouraged to join in, no matter their experience level. Guitars, fiddles, mandolins, banjos, and dobro players are all fair game in this come-one-come-all acoustic circle.
The beginner jam starts at 6:30, with the intermediate session at 7:30. The porch opens at 6, so grab a beer from Five Wits—we fully endorse the Alpine Highway Saison—find a seat, and get ready for some bluegrass.
The series arrives just as Chattanooga gears up for its first time hosting the International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass events this fall, including a multi-day conference, awards show, and Bluegrass Live! festival.
Steele released a new single earlier this year titled “The Extra Mile is a Gravel Road.” The track was produced by Nick Lutsko, with a music video directed by Jakey Lutsko.
