Ratboys are on tour to support their most recent release The Window, a record they put out last August via Top Shelf Records. The record continues the band’s creative blend of soft-hearted Midwestern indie rock with a bit of Americana, but there are some noticeable improvements.

This album signifies a noteworthy evolution for the band, as they mark their inaugural collaborative endeavor in both writing and recording.
The now solidified lineup, consisting of founding members Julia Steiner and Dave Sagan, alongside Sean Neumann on bass and Marcus Nuccio on drums, showcases a heightened Ratboys—a band that is now more enriched, fuller, and more expansive than ever before.

The band recorded the album in Seattle with Chris Walla, renowned not only for his membership in the band Death Cab for Cutie but also for his contributions as an engineer and producer on records such as The Decemberists’ ‘The Crane Wife’ and The Postal Service’s ‘Give Up.’
Walla’s influence appears to have helped the band create its best record yet. The Window garnered positive reviews from both fans and critics. The Skinny in the UK awarded the release four stars, while Pitchfork hailed it as a ‘breakthrough’ record stating, ‘Ratboys have written great tunes before, but they’ve never stacked so many together like this.’
Toronto’s Ducks Ltd will open the show
Tom McGreevy and Evan Lewis make up the jangle-pop band Ducks Ltd. The Toronto-base group released its second full-length album, Harm’s Way, last month through Carpark Records. Much of the album was written while on tour with Nation of Language, Illuminati Hotties, and Arches of Loaf.
The hundreds of shows played in support of those bands allowed Ducks Ltd to better understand their sonic identity and dial in their songcraft.
The album was recorded in Chicago with a large cast of familiar indie rock faces from bands like Finom, Ratboys, Dehd, Dummy and Patio.
