The Peterson Brothers will perform at Ross’s Landing this Saturday, July 13th, at 8 PM, joined by opener Swayyvo for week seven of the Riverfront Nights Free Summer Music Series
This week’s Riverfront Nights headliner is a phenomenal duo from Austin, Texas, The Peterson Brothers. They’ll take the stage at 8pm. Kicking off the evening at 7pm is local rapper, producer and saxophone player Swayyvo.
The Peterson Brothers, known for their blend of soul, funk, blues, and jazz, feature Glenn Peterson, Jr. on vocals and lead guitar and Alex Peterson on bass. Recognized for their talent at a young age, they played their first live gig at ages 11 and 13 at the historic Antone’s in Austin for the late Pinetop Perkins’ birthday show.
The brothers have consistently impressed around the country, garnering acclaim from high-profile fans over the years. In a 2019 interview with PBS Newshour, Gary Clark Jr. highlighted their impact, noting, “The Peterson Brothers, a brother duo on bass and guitar, are some of the baddest cats in the world.”

The Peterson Brothers have opened for an lauded lineup of artists, including Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Buddy Guy, and B.B. King. They also performed with Gary Clark Jr. at the 2019 Austin City Limits Festival.
They have played the Chicago Blues Fest, the Old Settler’s Music Fest and at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas in 2019.
Their live performances exhilarate with powerful renditions of funk and soul classics, alongside compelling original compositions. Their style and skill often draw comparisons to their former tourmate, Gary Clark Jr.
The brothers’ musical education was rooted in the classics, discovered through garage sale albums their mother and grandmother brought home, sparking a lifelong passion for funk, soul, blues, and rock.
Their discography includes a self-titled debut album released in 2015, followed by Give Me Your Love in 2019, the EP The Intro in 2020, and Experience, released this year.
Swayyvo to kick things off
This week’s opener is the immensely talented local rapper, saxophonist and producer, Swayyvo, who will take the stage at 7:00 PM
Swayyvo is the project of Jerod Morton, a multifaceted musical artist from Chattanooga. His music, which has garnered nearly 2 million streams on Spotify, blends influences from soul, jazz, and 90s hip hop. Swayyvo is highly regarded in the Chattanooga music scene, sought after for his prowess as both a producer and an exceptionally talented saxophonist.
Swayyvo’s studio releases include his debut album Trunk Therapy in 2019, Sounds In My Own Words in 2021, and Alone in Noise in 2022.
