The North Carolina country-punk band brings gritty twang to Cherry Street Tavern
Sarah Shook & The Disarmers are hitting the road on a nationwide tour in support their latest record, Revelations, and they’re making a stop in Chattanooga later this summer. The alt-country rockers will perform at Cherry Street Tavern on Friday, August 9th, at 9:00 PM.
Shook & Co are known for their distinct fusion of vintage outlaw country and punk rock, and their live shows are a rowdy good time.

Fronted by River Shook, Sarah Shook & The Disarmers have released four albums since forming in Chapel Hill, NC, in 2014. Their debut album, Sidelong, came out in 2015, and they followed it up with Years in 2018. The writing and recording of Years was documented by filmmaker Gorman Bechard and turned into the film “What It Takes: Film en Douze Tableaux.”
The group’s latest album, Revelations, was released earlier this year and explores deeper themes of personal reflection and struggle. For the first time, River Shook took on the role of producer, and the live-in-the-studio recording approach effectively captures the band’s high-energy, hard-hitting country punk sound, similar to what fans experience during their live shows.
Sarah Shook & The Disarmers have built a loyal fanbase and earned critical acclaim for the honesty and intensity of their music. Rolling Stone recognized their single “Good as Gold” as one of the “best country and Americana songs of the week,” while New Noise Magazine called their latest album “an Americana rock ‘n’ roll masterpiece.”
If you like your country music with a punk rock twist, this is one show you won’t want to miss.
Tickets are expected to sell out, so grab yours soon.
