Sinai Vessel to play Yellow Racket Records with Signs Following, Mult Sept. 13th

Asheville’s Sinai Vessel to play Chattanooga on September 13th, with support from Mult, Signs Following, and Golden Blend.

Sinai Vessel, the inventive Asheville outfit led by Caleb Cordes, is set to bring their genre-blending sound, thoughtful lyrics, and their new album I SING to Chattanooga’s Yellow Racket Records on September 13th.

Joining Sinai Vessel on the lineup are local bands, Signs Following, Mult, and Golden Blend.

Sinai Vessel started as a solo project by North Carolina native Caleb Cordes and has evolved considerably over time. Initially a loud three-piece emo band, it later reverted to a solo endeavor.

Cordes lived in Cleveland, Tennessee, spent some time in Chattanooga, and then moved to Nashville, where he released his 2020 album Ground Aswim. In 2021, he returned to North Carolina and settled in Asheville.

His recent album, I SING, was released on July 26 via Keeled Scales Records. The album has garnered praise from critics, with positive reviews from outlets such as Paste and Stereogum.

Flood Magazine highlighted the album, noting, “Caleb Cordes provides a thoughtfully nuanced thesis statement for his heartland indie-rock project as he paints a portrait of an artist working under the long shadow of late capitalism.”

Cordes co-produced the album with Asheville-based producer and engineer Bennett Littlejohn, known for his work with artists like Hovvdy, Skirts, and Claire Rousay.
