Twen drop HUGE tour schedule, including Cherry Street Tavern stop

The Nashville-based psychedelic-pop band Twen has announced a massive 54-city tour, including a stop at Cherry Street Tavern in downtown Chattanooga on August 4th.

The notoriously nomadic band will spend a significant portion of the year on the road, touring the Southeast, Midwest, and both U.S. coasts before jetting off to the UK and Europe for a string of 19 shows across five countries.

Twen’s origins can be traced back to the vibrant DIY punk scene of Boston, Massachusetts, where the band drew inspiration from the raw energy of basement shows and late-night jam sessions. Vocalist Jane Fitzsimmons and guitarist Ian Jones, the principal members of the band, recognized the need for a change of scenery to fully commit to the Twen project, ultimately choosing Nashville as their new base of operations.

While their adopted hometown may be the Country Music Capital, Twen’s true home appears to be the road, particularly the Dodge van they converted into a tiny home. Their relentless touring embodies the essence of their DIY ethos—they seem to outwork everyone else, or maybe they just can’t stop?

The band has played renowned events such as the Austin City Limits Music Festival and SXSW, and they’ve toured alongside notable acts like Whitney, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and Post-Animal.

Twen’s latest album, One Stop Shop, stands as another remarkable do-it-yourself achievement. The band took charge of every aspect, from writing and recording to production and marketing. Nashville music blog We Own This Town hailed the album as a “captivating listen from start to finish, full stop,” urging audiences to include it on their Best of the Year nominees list and listen to it obsessively.

Twen released a single called SeaStar in December of 2023. Listen to it below, via Bandcamp.
